Weigth loss : Sensible meals
Imagine if you had your own private chef to cook you the tastiest meal in the world (that is also extremely healthy) whenever you needed it! I would bet that access to this chef 24/7 will decrease the time that your would spend grazing on animal crackers, candy, or any other unhealthy junk foods.
This is because healthy food is often inconvenient and takes a lot more time and effort than fast food causing us to make bad decisions like the ones above. Our goal is to remove the inconveniences of not knowing what to eat, and having to spend a lot of time cooking by having pre-arranged meals that you love to eat pre-prepared.
Action Plan: Research 3 meals that you find delicious and that are also healthy. Ensure that you always have these ingredients for the meals stocked and ready. Every time that you then wonder what you are going to eat, one of your favorite meals that also happens to be healthy is just 5-10 minutes away.
Never go full binge mode:
Everyone knows the feeling of binge mode… that horrible mindset you get yourself trapped in once you have eaten something you shouldn’t. You make the huge mistake of rationalizing more bad decisions for the rest of your life since “it doesn’t matter now” because we have already messed up.
Everybody who does this already understands that it is illogical, but they still fall victim to their very clever binge-mind that tells them otherwise.
The best thing about binge mode is it is very easy to escape once we turn and face it and question its stupidity. The key is to be certain of its absurdity ahead of time so that when you find yourself in binge mode you can pull yourself out.
Action Plan: Recognize the absurdity of your rationalizations now. A Big Mac is not any better for you after you eat a piece of cake. When you are in binge mode tell yourself that you are rationalizing bad decisions with worse ones that you have already made. Acknowledge that you are in a bad mind state and remind yourself that every bad decision you make still has equally poor consequences on your health and body.
Soup for success:
Soups are one of those foods that make you feel warm and fuzzy inside. They are fortunately also one of the healthiest comfort foods to eat because they consist mainly of water which will fill you up as much as a normal food, but only deliver half the calories.
Most soups are also chocked full of delicious vegetables that provide your body with a lot of micronutrients and vitamins that your body needs in order to thrive.
Action Steps: Find a couple of soups that you enjoy and make sure you schedule them into your meal plans ahead of a few times a week.
